Hainan Foreign Language College of Professional Education (HFLC) is a public school accredited by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Founded in 1947, Hainan Foreign Language College of Professional Education has a history of over 67 years in higher foreign language education.
It now offers 24 majors involving 8 foreign languages including English, Japanese, Russian, Korean, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. More than 300 faculty members including 20 native language teachers from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, and South Korea work closely together to offer their students a high quality education.
Hainan Foreign Language College of Professional Education is located at Wenchang City of Hainan Island, the second largest tropical island of China lying on the South China Sea. With its unique natural resources, Hainan Island is rapidly developing its tourism industry and continues to attract tourists from all over the world.
Through the collaboration between HFLC and Harrison, several unique programs have been designed for HFLC students and faculty. Different from the traditional 2+2 model, the HFLC-Harrison International Connection provides more flexible, diverse and student-oriented plans to assist FHLC students’ study abroad in The United States.
Harrison College offers two different frameworks for students from Hainan Foreign Language College of Professional Education.
Harrison College offers most of its Bachelor of Science Degree and its Associate of Applied Science Degree programs, which are available to students from Hainan Foreign Language College of Professional Education. Harrison College will design a unique 2-3 week program which can provide Hainan students with an overview and sample of an American study experience as well as practical field experience, including exposure to various types of businesses and leaders in different business sectors, such as hospitality or government. The program design will be customized upon HFLC’s request.
As part of the program in Indianapolis, students will have the option to take English proficiency test (IELTS or TOEFL) with the assistance from Harrison College and its partner, ELS Language Services, during their stay.
